To ensure the highest standards of service, the doctors at The Cottage Surgery run private billing practices.  As a result, there will be out an out-of-pocket expense payable at the time of your consultation. Bulk billing may be offered to pensioners in financial difficulty – speak with your doctor. Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, EFTPOS or credit card.  A list of usual fees charged and other practice information is available at the reception desk and is displayed in the waiting room.

What fees would I expect to pay?

  • Doctors’ fees are generally based on appointment duration and are the same for face-to-face, telephone, and video consultations.
  • The updated fees list for the most common consultation types are on display at the practice or call us on 99483768 for any details.
  • The doctors offer discounted fees for Pension card holders.
  • Bulk billing is available for DVA cardholders, Health Assessments done annually and Chronic Disease Management plans with the nurse and the doctor which can be done every 3 months. Fees for procedures can be ascertained from the Doctor.

What will the initial consult involve?

  • The doctors at The Cottage Surgery welcome new patients
  • Each new patient to the practice has a 30-40 min appointment designed to give the patient an opportunity to discuss their concerns.
  • The treating doctor also extensively records important personal and family history, medications, past treatment, unresolved issues, and preventative management, including cancer screening.
